Professional CB Radio Repair By FredTheRedneck There are strict guidelines which we follow in order to provide CB Radio Repair to the general public. The below listed "MUST" be adhered to when contacting us about having a radio repaired by E.E.S. Return shipping @ handling - This will be discussed and agreed upon between the customer and E.E.S. prior to a radio being sent for repair. These funds will always be used to insure return of the equipment to the customer is affirmed. Normally the customer sends the radio to us (USPS Priority Large Flat Rate Box) and after repair, we send an Invoice for the repair AND return shipping. To ship and INSURE the average radio is approximately $22.00. We return the radio the same way. E.E.S. must be the initial contact when a radio becomes in a repairable state. Normally, we will not work on a radio that someone else has attempted to "FIX". We REPAIR radios and do not need a radio that has quit and ol' Joe Snake gouged in and around the defect. In too many cases, many additional headaches are created when an inexperienced "tech" goes inside the radio. We are not saying the tech is not capable; it is that we do not want to have to sort out problems that someone else might have created. The law of physics state the way we find faults and repair the equipment we like to work on. But inexperienced hands can place an obstacle in those paths we take. This eats up man-hours and cost the customer extra. We will not work on a radio if we decide it is too old to readily obtain parts, schematics are needed and not obtainable, or any other reason, based on a one-on-one evaluation. Never ask..... Never ask us if we work on anything that has high voltage inside as the power buss factor. We do not work on anything that has a tube in it. We do not work on linear amplifiers. The BIG "However"......... However, if it is known to us, that the radio has been attempted to be "fixed" , we will attempt to repair the radio as cost efficiently as possible as long as the radio is economically salvageable. We just need to be told that someone has looked at it, prior to us looking at it. We might need HD pictures prior to acceptance. A maximum amount will be set prior to the radio being sent to E.E.S. as to not let a repair become a money pit. With a Maximum amount set, it will not let the customer or E.E.S. sink time and money into this pit type situation; where more is put into time, labor and parts to the point that either of us feel like we got ripped or stiffed. An estimate is only a WAG (wild ass guess) and a SWAG is the scientific version which is even a wilder guess. If the actual repair is less than the maximum allotted, then the customer will pay only the price of the actual repair....NOT THE MAXIMUM. We determine what is defective and repair/replace only those things that are needed to resolve the problem. We are not parts changers when the part is not at fault or defective. We always install new parts during repair, unless it is a part that is not normally found available on the world market. Then, should we elect to install a used part, it is tested to provide performance as well as a new part PRIOR to installation. Consider what you have; if it is worth it to you to attempt a radio repair, then send us an email and we'll talk about it. SUPER MODULATION MODULE FOR COBRA 21, 25, 29 AND
ALMOST
ANY AM RADIO= This module modifies the transmitter for added modulation and can
be pre-set to allow for linear operation. The device can be switched in or out
of the circuit by a single-pole-single-throw switch. The over-all
installation
is not difficult with a little fundamental electronic knowledge. Comes with
general installation instructions.
THIS
KIT SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED IN ANY RADIO THAT UTILIZES A UPD858/UPD861 PLL OR IF
IT HAS A ROUND TRANSISTOR FOR A FINAL.
Although
the circuitry will work in radios with these PLLs and final configurations, they
are very difficult to obtain the proper results and have been known to fail with
damage to the driver and final sections.
